With over 20 years of academic and professional experience, I hold aBachelor's Degree in Social Work and a Postgraduate Diploma inMental Health, which has allowed me to work with organisations suchas Disability SA, The Australian Defence Force and The Departmentof Veterans Affairs. Outside of work, I am a mother of three and enjoy spending time withmy family. I enjoy the outdoors, whether it's walking our dog Alfie(whom we consider our third son) or nurturing our beautiful garden.I also find fulfilment by contributing to our local community, participatingin cultural events and staying connected with friends and family.

Multicultural counselling is a therapeutic approach that considers factors affecting minorities, including historical oppression, family relations and societal effects. It acknowledges that patients' backgrounds influence their perspectives and adapts the counsellor's role accordingly. This works on the understanding that factors such as race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, disabilities, health conditions, gender, sexual orientation and living conditions has a significant impact on a persons' mental health and influence their therapeutic experience.
